OUR ACADEMY RULES

OUR ACADEMY RULES

Two individuals grapple on a blue mat during a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu grappling match, with one person in black attempting to gain control over the person in blue during training.

To maintain the best atmosphere and conditions at our academy, we have rules that both our members and staff should focus on.

Academy Etiquette

    • Do not rudely interrupt instructional periods or teammates.

    • Respect your team

    • If possible, wear protective items such as mouthguards or shells to prevent injury.

    • Wear Gi’s during Gi days, FJJA may also give rental Gi’s that MUST be returned after training is over for the day.

  • We expect our students and coaches to be at their best when training, this is how you can achieve this:

    • Attempt to show up to class beforehand or on time.

    • Bring gear needed for training, such as clothes, water bottles, or slippers.

    • Sign into classes with the tablet, this is a great measure for instructors to promote.

    • Do NOT show up to classes if you are sick, injured, or have ANY infections/open wounds; you may be removed for the training.

    • Use appropriate changing areas to change clothing. Please do NOT change in inappropriate areas.

    • Do NOT coach from the sidelines unless you are an active member and have valid experience to instruct.

    • If you join a class, please attempt to stay the entire class period.

    • Kids Class:

      • Parents, please advise children to listen to instructors during instructional periods. If children are continually disruptive during instructional periods, they may be removed by instructors.

      • Keep children within training areas unless bathroom or water break is authorized by instructors.

      • Children may NOT run off training areas during training time (ie. horseplay).

      • Children are expected to have water, use bathrooms before training, and be class appropriate.

      • Children may NOT run around facilities after or before class, they may injure themselves and FJJA claims no responsibility for any injury during, before, or after class.

      • Children under the ages of 12 may NOT use strength training equipment, they may be removed from facility if this happens.

      • Children should NOT hang on or damage any equipment (striking bags, weight equipment, etc.). Any property damage done to equipment through this may be added to account fees.
